Founders Sarah Mitchell and Rachel Bennett set out to build a single, trustworthy destination for the categories people actually restock every month, from pantry staples and supplements to pet care, skincare and home goods.

Every product on Modern Essentials Journal is reviewed by our small buying team before it is listed. We look at ingredient sourcing, manufacturing standards and real customer feedback, and we re-check listings every quarter to make sure they still meet our bar.

Processing time

Orders placed before 1:00 PM Eastern Time on a business day are processed the same day. Orders placed after that time, or on weekends and holidays, are processed the following business day.

Shipping methods

Standard shipping arrives in 3 to 6 business days and is free on orders over $50. Expedited shipping arrives in 2 business days. Overnight shipping is available at checkout for an additional fee and is not available to P.O. boxes.

Order tracking

A tracking link is emailed as soon as your order ships. Subscription boxes ship automatically on your selected date each month; you can adjust or skip a shipment any time from your account.

International shipping

At this time Modern Essentials Journal ships only within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

30-day returns

Unopened items may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund to your original payment method. Opened wellness, food and personal care items can only be returned if the product arrived damaged or incorrect, for safety reasons.

How to start a return

Email info@modernessentialsjournal.info with your order number and the reason for the return. We will send a prepaid return label for eligible items within one business day.

Subscriptions

Membership and subscription boxes can be cancelled any time before the next billing date from your account settings. Cancelling stops future shipments; it does not refund boxes already delivered.

Refund timing

Refunds are issued within 5 to 7 business days of us receiving the returned item, and may take an additional billing cycle to appear on your statement.

4. Subscriptions and memberships

Recurring plans renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time before the next billing date as described in our Return Policy.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
